Australia and New Zealand observe Anzac Day as a national day of commemoration to honor all Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations as well as the contribution and suffering of all those who have served. Anzac Day, which is observed on April 25 every year, was first created as a way to remember Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) soldiers who fought in the Gallipoli campaign, which was their first battle in the First World War (1914–1918).
